Grant Writer

Developing research proposals is a time consuming task for experienced and novice grant writers alike. Many proposal solicitations require collaboration with investigators in other departments or at other institutions. While a lead investigator can be identified to administer or coordinate the research project, writing the grant is often an undertaking requiring input from all of the investigators. The office of Research and Sponsored Programs has appointed a new Grant Writer who can facilitate the grant writing process by offering the following services:

  • Meet with PI(s) to discuss research to be conducted.
  • Provide assistance in proposal development with interpretation of solicitation guidelines.
  • For proposals involving multiple investigators, provide assertive leadership to ensure timely progress on development of proposals.
  • Interface with program officers and collaborators.
  • Organize data and information to support proposals.
  • Write initial draft based on the research plan developed by investigator(s).
  • Edit subsequent drafts, collate revisions from each investigator, and provide a consistent, unified voice for the narrative.
  • Provide expertise in developing an appropriate budget.
