Faculty Publication/Exhibition Support
|
 |
For FY07, the Research and Sponsored Programs Office has allocated $2000 from its portion of centrally distributed indirect funds to provide faculty publication/exhibition support. The purpose of the support is to assist faculty in:
- obtaining reprints of their publications,
- assisting in page publication costs, and
- incidental costs associated with invited artistic performances or juried art exhibits (not to include travel, per diem, or lodging). Total funds available in FY07 for this category are limited to $800.
A maximum of $200 per faculty member is available for FY07 until the funds are depleted. This maximum is utilized as a means of making these funds available to as many faculty as possible. However, faculty who have costs beyond the $200 maximum may wish to submit their requests for consideration in the event all funds are not used.
Guidelines for Support Faculty may pay their own costs and request reimbursement but must provide Research and Sponsored Programs with documentation of payment, or may request that the publisher or gallery be paid directly.
- “Documentation of payment” is defined as either the receipted invoice or a copy of the invoice and a copy of the cancelled check in payment thereof.
- If requesting reimbursement, RSP will need the UID of the faculty member.
- If payment is to be made directly to the publisher or gallery, the invoice should be submitted with the request for direct payment. If the amount exceeds $200, the faculty member should attach payment for the balance to the documentation sent to Research and Sponsored Programs so that the publisher or gallery receives full payment.
Process for Submitting Requests Faculty route requests, either hard copy or e-mail, through their department/school chair/director to Kevin Wiand, Business Manager, 3040 Research and Sponsored Programs (or by e-mail to kgwiand@ilstu.edu). The chair’s/director’s signature (either written or electronic) should appear on the request. The request memo is to include the title of the article, journal name, and where it will/has been published. If the request is for an entrance exhibit fee, specific details should be provided. If faculty anticipate that a request for payment will be made near the end of the fiscal year (e.g., May/June), it is recommended that Research and Sponsored Programs be advised so that funds may be encumbered. Requests should be submitted as early in the fiscal year as possible. |
